The Story Behind In The Making Coaching
My Philosophy
I believe people do their best work when they truly understand themselves.
That's the belief behind In The Making Coaching—and it's something I've come to believe after more than a decade helping people grow in their careers.
When we focus on what's right with us instead of trying to fix what's wrong with us, our thinking shifts from "I can't" to "What if I could, and what would it take?"
The people who experience the most meaningful career growth aren't the ones trying to become someone else. They're the ones who better understand who they already are.
When you discover your natural talents and intentionally develop them into everyday strengths, you gain the confidence, clarity, and direction to do your best work.
I'm Megan Randall, a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths Coach and NACE Certified Career Coach. For more than a decade, I've helped students, professionals, leaders, and teams use their strengths to navigate career decisions and grow with greater confidence.
Megan Randall, Your Coach
Why ‘In The Making Coaching’?
I chose the name In The Making Coaching because I don't believe any of us are ever finished growing.
Whether you're building your career, becoming a stronger leader, or helping your team thrive, there's always another opportunity to pause, reflect, and ask:
Who am I?
What's most important to me?
What's next?
I don't believe there's a finish line when it comes to personal or professional growth. We all have opportunities to better understand ourselves, develop our natural talents into strengths, and become more intentional about how we use them.
That's what "In The Making" means to me.
It's the belief that growth isn't about becoming someone else—it's about becoming more of who you already are.
Every coaching conversation begins there.
My Story
For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to discover something meaningful that could make a positive difference in the world.
When I was younger, I thought that discovery would take me to Egypt. I dreamed of becoming an Egyptologist, learned to read hieroglyphics, and even started college planning to study archaeology. But life had other plans. As my path changed, I realized I wasn't as fascinated by ancient civilizations as much as I was by everyday people.
Looking back, I realize my purpose never really changed—only the way I lived it out did.
Instead of uncovering hidden treasures buried beneath the sand, I now have the privilege of helping people discover what's already great within them. After more than a decade working in career development, education, and coaching, I've come to believe that every person already has incredible potential. Sometimes they just need someone to help them discover their strengths—and learn how to intentionally apply them to help them make progress toward their goals.
There's nothing more rewarding than watching someone recognize strengths they hadn't fully appreciated, gain confidence in who they are, and realize they're more capable than they ever imagined.
Because when people discover what's already great within themselves, the impact doesn't stop with them. They carry that confidence into their careers, leadership, teams, families, and communities. This is the ripple effect that inspires me every day—and why I believe your best work is still in the making.
How I Coach
Every coaching conversation begins the same way: by understanding what you naturally do best.
From there, we build on your strengths to help you gain clarity, navigate challenges, and move toward work that feels meaningful and authentic.
Through strengths-based coaching, we'll:
Discover what you naturally do best
Develop your talents into everyday strengths
Apply your strengths to make confident decisions and achieve your goals
My role isn't to tell you who to become. It's to help you better understand who you already are—and use your strengths intentionally in your career.
How My Strengths Shape My Coaching
Just as I'll help you discover and intentionally use your strengths, I coach from mine.
My Top 5 CliftonStrengths shape every coaching conversation—from how I listen and ask questions to how I help you gain clarity, navigate decisions, and move forward with confidence.
